Terms of Service

1. Operator and contact

DZC (Direct Zone Connect), dzclauncher.com, api.dzclauncher.com, the public server catalogue, and the DZC launcher family are operated privately and non-commercially by Sven Maier, Riedgasse 15, 6850 Dornbirn, Austria. 2. Scope and acceptance

These Terms apply when you access or use the website, API, catalogue, download service, DZC Launcher — DayZ, DZC Launcher — Arma 3, deep links, server submission, ownership-claim, and reporting tools, or related support. By using a service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use it. No DZC account, fee, or subscription is required. Claiming a listed server uses Discord sign-in instead of a DZC account.

You must have the legal capacity required to agree to these Terms. If mandatory law requires a parent or guardian's permission, you may use the services only with that permission.

3. Permission to use the launcher

You may download, install, and use the applicable DZC launcher for personal, lawful use with DayZ or Arma 3. This permission is non-exclusive, non-transferable, and may be withdrawn where necessary to protect the project, users, or third parties. It does not transfer ownership of the launcher, website, branding, or service code and does not grant a right to sell, misrepresent, maliciously modify, or redistribute the service as your own. Third-party components remain governed by their respective licences.

4. Server catalogue

Catalogue information is obtained from public discovery and query interfaces, independent server operators, and user submissions. It changes frequently and may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or incorrect. A listing, verification marker, ranking, or successful query does not constitute an endorsement, guarantee of safety, or recommendation. Confirm important rules, costs, requirements, and operator information with the relevant server operator.

5. Submissions, reports, and moderation

Submit only information you are entitled to provide and that is relevant, accurate to the best of your knowledge, and lawful. Do not submit credentials, private personal data, malware, deceptive claims, or content that infringes another person's rights. You retain rights you hold in submitted text and grant the operator a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, review, reproduce, adapt for formatting, and display it as needed to operate and moderate the catalogue.

Listings, submissions, reports, ownership claims, and associated access may be corrected, restricted, rejected, or removed where reasonably necessary for accuracy, security, legal compliance, abuse prevention, or service operation. Reports and claims are reviewed but no particular outcome or response time is guaranteed.

6. Acceptable use

You must not:

• break applicable law or encourage unlawful activity;
• overload, disrupt, probe, damage, or interfere with the website, API, launcher, or infrastructure;
• bypass rate limits, access controls, moderation, ownership checks, or launch safeguards;
• use automated access at a volume or in a manner that degrades the service;
• introduce malware, malicious links, misleading catalogue data, or content that infringes rights;
• impersonate the operator, another user, a server operator, or an affiliated third party; or
• extract or reuse catalogue data in a way that violates law, third-party rights, or these Terms.

7. Steam, Workshop, Discord, Microsoft, and game servers

DZC interoperates with independent products and services including Steam, Steam Workshop, Discord, Microsoft Store, DayZ, Arma 3, BattlEye, Proton where applicable, and community game servers. Their own terms, licences, privacy practices, availability, and technical requirements apply. The operator does not control their accounts, content, downloads, moderation, purchases, bans, outages, or security. You are responsible for complying with their rules and for deciding whether to connect to an independent server or install third-party Workshop content.

8. Downloads, security, and your device

Use an official DZC distribution and keep your operating system, Steam, and security tools current. Microsoft Store manages signing and updates for Store editions where offered. Direct releases are distributed separately and may trigger an unknown-publisher warning; verify the published SHA-256 checksum before running them. Do not install conflicting distribution variants together. You are responsible for your local settings, backups, network access, Workshop storage, Proton configuration where applicable, and review of any diagnostic archive before sharing it.

9. Availability, updates, and termination

The project may update, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features, releases, catalogue entries, game integrations, platform packages, or the service as a whole. Compatibility with every operating system, Steam configuration, DayZ or Arma 3 version, server, mod, or hardware configuration is not guaranteed. Access may be limited or blocked to address abuse, security, maintenance, legal obligations, or material violations of these Terms. You may stop using the service at any time and remove locally stored launcher data as described on the Help page.

10. Warranty and liability

The services are provided free of charge on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, no promise is made that they will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or fit for a particular purpose, or that catalogue data and third-party content will be accurate or safe. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, lost gameplay, third-party services, independent servers, mods, or events outside reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for intent, gross negligence, personal injury, or any warranty, remedy, consumer protection, or other right that applicable law does not permit to be excluded or limited. Mandatory Austrian and European Union consumer protections continue to apply.

11. Privacy

The Privacy Policy explains local launcher data, technical requests, anonymous usage events, submissions, reports, third-party integrations, retention, legal bases, and your rights. It forms part of the information provided with these Terms but is not used to reduce your statutory rights.

12. Governing law and disputes

Austrian law applies, excluding conflict-of-law rules, to the extent that this choice does not deprive a consumer of mandatory protection under the law of their habitual residence. Courts in Austria have jurisdiction where legally permitted. Mandatory consumer jurisdiction and statutory rights to bring proceedings elsewhere remain unaffected. Please contact the operator first so a concern can be reviewed informally.

13. Changes and severability

These Terms may be updated prospectively when the service, law, or operating model changes. The effective date above will be revised and material changes will be presented reasonably before they apply. Continued use after an updated version takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
